Fast fashion is one of the most destructive industries on the planet, driving the climate crisis through massive carbon emissions, rampant over-consumption, and staggering amounts of waste. Yet, right here in our local community, we’ve discovered inspiring individuals who are challenging this narrative by upcycling, reusing materials, and giving garments a second life instead of buying new.
The Remaykit fashion show held in June 2025 celebrated these creative change makers. It not only showcased their innovative designs but it also inspired others to join the movement for a more sustainable future. By highlighting the potential of restyled, repurposed fashion, we demonstrated that creativity can drive real environmental impact and individual action can be a powerful tool for change.
Remaykit is about imagining a different kind of fashion economy—one that values local ingenuity, minimises waste, and prioritises the planet. It’s proof that sustainable fashion doesn’t have to cost the earth.
